  10.        This release note describes patch SG0002826 to IRIX 6.2.

  21.        This patch contains bug fixes needed for Performance Co-
  22.        Pilot 2.0 on a system running IRIX 6.2 and requires the
  23.        pcp_eoe.sw.eoe subsystem to be installed. Machines running a
  24.        64-bit kernel must also install pcp_eoe.sw.lib64 for this
  25.        software to function correctly.  This software cannot be
  26.        installed on a system running earlier versions of
  27.        Performance Co-Pilot.

  31.        This patch contains fixes for the following bugs in IRIX
  32.        6.2.  Bug numbers from Silicon Graphics bug tracking system

  36.             libirixpmda in IRIX 6.2 and IRIX 6.3 from IRIX 5.3.
  37.             During development of IRIX 6.4 and IRIX 6.5, new
  38.             metrics were added and bugs fixed that are relevant to
  39.             IRIX 6.2 and IRIX 6.3. These changes were back ported
  40.             for patch SG0001911 (#459836) and enhanced in this

  142.        Because you want to install only the patches for problems
  143.        you have encountered, patch software is not installed by
  144.        default.  After reading the descriptions of the bugs fixed
  145.        in this patch (see Section 1.3), determine the patches that
  146.        meet your specific needs.

  148.        If, after reading Sections 1.1 and 1.2 of these release
  149.        notes, you are unsure whether your hardware and software
  150.        meet the requirements for installing a particular patch, run
  151.        _i_n_s_t.  The _i_n_s_t program does not allow you to install
  152.        patches that are incompatible with your hardware or
  153.        software.

  155.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  156.        software product.  Follow the instructions in your _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e
  157.        _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_o_r'_s _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot
  158.        form of the software installation tools.

  160.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  162.          1.  At the Inst> prompt, type

  208.        To remove a patch, use the _v_e_r_s_i_o_n_s _r_e_m_o_v_e command as you
  209.        would for any other software subsystem.  The removal process
  210.        reinstates the original version of software unless you have
  211.        specifically removed the patch history from your system.
